JLR was retained by Eastway International Inc. to conduct a technical feasibility study to review the commercial potential of reprocessing the Ross Mine tailings in Holtyre, Ontario, on the basis of a 2200 tonnes per day (TPD) operation.

As part of the project deliverables, JLR developed flow sheets, plant arrangements, and preliminary site plans. The process, although preliminary in development at the time of the study, consisted of front-end crushing and material handling systems, mill feed process tanks complete with agitation, a ball mill operated in a closed loop circuit with hydrocyclones, process pumping systems, screening, and thickeners.

The JLR multidisciplinary team provided an opinion of probable construction costs, an opinion of probable operating expenditures, and an order of magnitude schedule as part of the final feasibility report we delivered.
