JLR was retained by Centretown Citizens Ottawa Corporation (CCOC) to provide Level 2 Energy Audits and asset planner update on 19 social housing buildings. CCOC requested an understanding of energy-use breakdown as it relates to energy conservation measures. The analysis includes use of Ontario Smart Meter data and building condition assessments to derive energy end-use breakdown and recommend energy conservation measures. This methodology provides solid insights into a building’s energy performance.
Recommended conservation measures included: envelope upgrades; make-up air unit replacement and upgrades; lighting retrofits; and solar air heating and rooftop photovoltaics. Work will be used towards developing funding applications for deep energy retrofits that must achieve 30% reductions in energy use and carbon emissions.
