OTTAWA–J.L. Richards & Associates Limited (JLR) has welcomed a new Controller. Brad Henderson, CPA, CMA has joined the firm and will be leading its Finance & Accounting team in coordination with Chief of Corporate Services Tamara Gauthier, CPA, CMA.
Henderson explains that JLR’s established team and appetite for growth and innovation are what initially enticed him to join the firm.
“JLR was attractive to me as a local, solid, and enduring organization that has a renewed drive for growth and expansion,” he explains.
Henderson has spent much of his career supporting the corporate finance functions of successful, growing organizations in the software and high-tech industries. Through previous roles he has developed focused expertise in system implementations, acquisitions, and enterprise resource planning. He expresses his excitement to put this insight to work at JLR.
“What I’m most excited about at JLR is the great potential for the accounting and finance function,” says Henderson. “The group has been evolving over the past couple of years and is now in a great position to focus on partnering with the business to produce more forward-looking, value-add reporting and insight.”
Henderson adds that he is enjoying working with JLR’s current Finance & Accounting team to identify new opportunities for the group to further evolve its function.
“The changes that have been made to shape the various roles within the accounting group are going to set us up very well to continue moving forward,” Henderson says. “Together we will work to continuously improve financial reporting for the business, and to enhance our ability to get critical information in front of the right people when they need it.”
